Charades Generator

Charades is a guessing game where one player acts out a word or phrase without speaking while their team tries to guess it before time runs out. Pick your categories, split into two teams and press start. The actor sees a word, the timer runs, and every correct guess scores a point.

How to play

Split into two teams and name them.

Ways to play

  • Silent movie: Only movie titles, and the actor may use props from the room.
  • Relay: Each player acts the same word for their teammate in a line, like a game of telephone.
  • One word only: The actor can say exactly one word during the whole round.
  • Kids vs grown-ups: Kids use the easy list and adults use the hard list.

Hosting tips

  • Agree on the basic signals first: number of words, sounds like, movie, book.
  • Use the 60-second round for kids and 45 seconds for adults.
  • Let the youngest player go first.
  • Skip is allowed. Fast rounds are more fun than stuck rounds.
